Historic trip to Pallars Jussà and Sobirà the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees, reliving the changes experienced during the first half of the twentieth century, changes in lifestyles and jobs lost. Among the fantastic mountain scenery, interesting cultural visits to museums and monuments, and tasting the local cuisine, go to the discovery of a momentous leap rural society for centuries and isolated nature of agriculture and livestock, the current industrial development and tourism thanks in part to the revolution that led to the exploitation of the rich hydropower.

The Program:

Thurday:

• 9.10h. am. Depart from Lleida with the Lakes Train. An unforgettable journey through a spectacular landscapes.
• 11.00h am. Arriving in La Pobla de Segur. From there, all transfers and excursions will be by taxi or bus.
• Visit the Raftsmen Museum where you will discover the ancient disappeared craft of fluvial transport of wood.
• Visit the Museum Shops lounge Pallars intimate tour for nearly a century from everyday items commonly used.
• Lunch: Set menu in a typical local restaurant. Visit the Oil Mill and Casa Mauri, modernist buildings which include mosaics, stained glass and wrought iron, and romantic gardens „belle époque“. Visit the old liquor factory Portet, handmade traditional spirits of the Pyrenees.
• At 18:30 pm.Accommodation in the chosen hotel

Friday:

• Breakfast and transfer to:
• Visit the Hydroelectric Museum Central Capdella pioneer in the Pyrenees, to learn how it worked and how the workers and people living in the country and understand what how important was for Catalonia.
• The trip follows up to Lake Montcortès , the only lake that is not glacial, but karst. A very special place amid a delightful place, with its own legend of knights and virgins.
• Visit the salt production in Gerri de la Sal. Explanation and exhibition in the field of the production process, storage and sale of salt.
• Lunch: set menu in a typical local restaurant.
• Visit of Santa Maria de Gerri de la Sal impressive collegiate one of the wonders of the Romanesque art.
• Dinner and overnight in the chosen hotel

Saturday:

• After breakfast, we enjoy an exceptional experience!
• 9.00h. am. We will move to Espot, where we will enjoy a trip to:The National Park Aigüestortes and lake St. Maurice which is the most genuine representation of the high mountains Pyrenees and is unique for the majesty of its landscape and the richness of the flora and fauna hosting.
• Lunch: set menu in a typical local restaurant.
• Transfer and visit the Eco Museum of Àneu Valley, a new concept used a farm museum preserved with all its rooms and furniture, where the visitor discover and actively participates in the lifestyles and livelihoods of the Pyrenees in the early twentieth century.
• Dinner and overnight in the chosen hotel.

Sunday:

• After breakfast we leave the hotel and go to the Àssua Valley.
• Visit the Shepherds Museum of the Àssua Valley, in the charming village of Llessui. After a brief introduction to the characteristics of the Valley of the shepherds and the sheep are explained in depth the various tasks to be undertaken by the shepherds during an annual cycle.
• Visit the Butterfly Museum. A curious example of many unique species with an explanation of the relationship with the ecosystem.
• Visit an artisan Cheese producer in Altron.
• Lunch: set menu with local products at a local restaurant.
• Back in La Pobla de Segur, we stop at the Collegats Gorge a true festival geological marvel to admire the altarpiece of water and rock of Argentina wall.
• Return trip by Lakes Train. Arrival in Lleida at 19:20 pm.
